Racing is back!!! Although today (Friday) was not an official practice day, the lifts were running and the riders who have arrived already wanted to get a feel for the tracks. With temperatures in the upper 80s and humidity tipping the scales, acclimating is important. Some early morning rains turned the Tennessee dirt into some sticky slippery peanut-butter-slide-fest, keeping most racers off the hill until it dried out later in the day. Luckily it looks like the precipitation will hold off for the rest of the weekend. This year the Downhill Southeast series will be incorporating 2 tracks per race. A slightly easier course for Cats 2, 3 and Single Crown with the more difficult course reserved for Cats 1 and Pro class. Windrock has a reputation for having World-Cup-level racing, and to be more inclusive to riders just getting into the sport, the second course should be more inviting for anyone just looking to see what #USDH is all about.
