With so many great options in the flat shoe market these days how do you even begin to pick the shoe that is right for you? Well Pearl Izumi threw their hat in the ring with their new X-Alp Flow shoe. We got our feet in a pair of these and have been putting them through the paces over the last few months. Here is our take on how they ride.

The Pearl Izumi X-Alp Flow mountain bike shoes feature a dual compound sole with sticky, siped rubber on the ball of the foot to help create maximum grip on your pedal pins while the Chevron shaped lugs made from a harder compound rubber are used on the toe and heel of the sole to help with durability. The design also lends itself useful for creating traction on those hike-a-bike sections.
