When it comes to lower-limb riding apparel, I’m picky. Very picky. In fact, I’m so picky that, since 2015, I just keep buying the same Race Face Ambush shorts whenever I wear a pair out. I simply can’t stand to ride in anything, aside from maybe a tired pair of prototype 7Mesh Glidepath shorts that were once tested by Ryan Palmer. Yes, Palmer, I still have those.

But now there are three, yes three pairs of shorts in the usual rotation. Let’s talk about the Gore C5 shorts (retail $160), because they’re my new favorite thing after 223-millimeter rotors (more on that next week).
